Principal's Message
Welcome to the Elliminyt Primary School website. As you browse through
the website pages I am sure that you will reach the conclusion
that this is a school in which the entire school community work
together to make sure that our students are well prepared to
become responsible life long learners. We are progressively
working to improve this site and will value parent, student and
community feedback as we go. We do apologise that we cannot
feature photographs at this time as we are ensuring all
necessary permissions and privacy considerations are met with
this immerging technology.
The school is very excited about our future with recent and
significant funding providing an opportunity to replace our
oldest building with a 2 million dollar development comprising
of 4 new classrooms, meeting rooms and modern learning spaces.
Our drive to become a sustainably aware school has also been
boosted with the planned development of a designated class and
learning area complete with vegetable patches, hot house and
more.
As a school community we value a climate and culture of teamwork.
The significant adults within the school, the teachers and their
helpers, work together with the students and their parents to
make sure that students learn to the best of their ability.
Students are encouraged to become responsible citizens through
the application of the You Can Do It ideals and by being treated
fairly and consistently by all members of the school community.
We also value a school organisation which accepts responsibility
for its actions. Staff conscientiously prepare and present a
curriculum which is based on the Victorian Essential Learning
Standards. Student progress is measured through the application
of both statewide and in-school assessment procedures and
reported to parents using the Standard Victorian Reporting
Programme – Quickvic. We are quick to respond to parent and
student concerns and accept responsibility for the total
education of our students.
The teaching staff of the school value the on-going development of
teaching and learning. Regular, weekly curriculum meetings allow
for the exchange of information which enhances the staff’s
knowledge in curriculum areas. A generous Professional
Development budget and encouragement from the Professional
Development Co-ordinator allows staff the flexibility to attend
programmes which keep staff abreast of current educational
thinking and processes. A Performance and Development Programme
undertaken by all staff, both teachers and helpers, guides staff
to help each other to develop, implement and evaluate term goals
which in turn encourages the continuous improvement of student
outcomes.
Finally we value a leadership which exhibits integrity. The
Principal and the Leadership Team work together to provide a
safe and secure environment for all concerned with the school.
The respect and trust they have for each other provides a fine
example and a sound basis for the parents, staff and students to
interact in a similar manner.
Elliminyt Primary School is a supportive community which values teamwork,
responsibility, continuous development and integrity of
leadership. In turn these provide an atmosphere of respect,
happiness, security and trust.
Enjoy your visit to our website. We hope that it will encourage you to
visit us so that you can experience the open and friendly
atmosphere of our school.
